    @ Legend

    Just a heads up I haven’t seen any lab discussions on this thread, most likely because this particular thread is “Share your CCIE v5 Written Experience.” If you do find a good lab resource let us know 🙂

    The answer to your question is “Reflexive ACLs”

    Reference document http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/security/ios-firewall/23602-confaccesslists.html (do a search on “upper-layer” and you will see the answer)

    Which statement about a type 4 LSA in OSPF is true?
    A. It is an LSA that is originated by an ASBR, that is flooded throughout the AS, and that describes a route to the ASBR
    B. It is an LSA that is originated by an ABR, that is flooded throughout the area, and that describes a route to the ASBR
    C. It is an LSA that is originated by an ABR, that is flooded throughout the AS, and that describes a route to the ABR
    D. It is an LSA that is originated by an ASBR, that is flooded throughout the area, and that describes a route to the ASBR
    E. It is an LSA that is originated by an ABR, that is flooded throughout the AS, and that describes a route to the ASBR

    NOTES: This is a very poorly worded question or someone is trying to be very tricky.

    Answers are obviously B or E (ABR orginates it and it’s for route to ASBR). However, is this flooded throughout AS OR throughout the area?

    Problem is that it is flooded through the AS (Answer E), except for stub areas, which technically makes this choice wrong.

    The other choice B is not fully correct either as it says throughout THE area, making it one area (usually Backbone), but LSA 4 is flooded throughout all regular areas (except for special/stub areas).

    IF PRESSED, I’m choosing A, but not sure what the correct one is.

    Thoughts ……

    Which two statements about IGMP filtering are true?

    A It eliminates the need for a multicast RP.
    B It can be implemented on Layer-3 routed ports using the ip igmp access-list command.
    C It allows Anycast RP to operate within a single AS.
    D It supports IGMPv3 traffic only.
    E It can be implemented on Layer-2 switchports using IGMP profiles.

    Which two actions can you take to prevent routes from becoming stuck in
    active?(Choose two.)
    A: Manually increse the EIGRP metrics on interfaces connected to successors.
    B: Increase the EIGRP K values on low-bandwidth interfaces
    C: Increase the time a router waits before it declares routes stuck in active.
    D: Design the network so that it uses the lowest possible number of queriess.
    E:Use port channeling to aggregate multiple EIGRP interfaces.
    F:Increase the Hello timers on EIGRP interfaces.

    Dump says CD.
    D is obviously correct.
    I dont like C because its not really a solution to the problem but its making the SIA issue worse.

    What do you guys think about option A?
    Increasing the metric to the successor can possible allow for some alternative routes to (now) pass the feasibility condition and be marked as feasible successors (so in case of failure no querying will be needed)

  39. Anonymous
    April 27th, 2017

    @Santana

    if a router sends a Query and that Query causes at least one of its directly connected neighbors to also become Active, the router will now become dependent not only on its Active neighbor but also on that neighbor’s own neighbors.

    @Santana

    When a Query is first sent out by a router, a timer called the Active timer for the route is
    started. The default value of the Active timers is 3 minutes and it can be set to any value
    between 1 and 65535 minutes or set to infinity using the timers active-time command in
    the router eigrp context. If all expected Replies are not received before the Active timer
    expires, the route in question will be designated as Stuck-In-Active (SIA).

    @Anonymous

    I understand the Active timer, however cannnot see any benefit in increasing it. It will only make the route stay in active for a longer period and at the end it will still go into SIA state.

    Option A, “Manually increse the EIGRP metrics on interfaces connected to successors”, can, in some cases at least, allow for a feasible successor for a route to be engineered for a route that had no feasible successor. If a route has a feasible successor no querying is done >> no risk of SIA.

    @Santana

    the question is to prevent route to be SIA and not to prevent diffusing computation for a particular destination

    That pr*ck who started sharing the mailing list asking for dumps should die now, along with all who keep posting that s*it preventing normal people from going through relevant questions. Stop begging for f*cking dumps, study, research and then come here to discuss questions instead!

    @furcceye: I strongly think the answer is B, because type 4 are flooded towards specific areas only in a uni-directional way and surely are not propagated back to area 0.

    @tasneem: It should BD, because VTI are not supported as they provide a routable interface for terminating IPSec tunnels
